Look What I Found At The Dollar Tree...

Okay, they are carrying the white novenas to the white Santa Muerte but they still won't carry Florida Water like they use to do back in the 90s. I've heard that the reason why the dollar stores won't carry the Florida Water anymore is because they were informed it was being used for "voodoo". LOL

  1. I use those as well! I was very surprised to discover her at the Dollar store. I use those candles for an offering to her. They burn good.

They sell Florida water at CVS for about five dollars I think, I wish they carried it at the Dollar store too.

  2. @ Nakomis,

Yeah, I thought about giving up on working with Santa Muerte but I think I might try again. Maybe I will have better luck with the white Santa Muerte.

As far as the Florida Water, I finally found a place that sell it for $3; however, I am still kind of burned out on it. I remember bact in the day where I would go to the dollar store and purchase like 5 or 6 bottles for $1 a piece! I stil have one unopened bottle but I now tend to use just rubbing alcohol for cleansing purposes. You can get that for a dollar still.

  3. I wish you luck on working with Santisima Muerte. Her white form is the best to approach her by. I have a good relationship with her. There is this new blog written about her by a curandero, I can send you the link? It's one of the best I have come across. We can also discuss her a little bit at the other forum I communicate with you from.

I love the smell of Florida water. The reason why I purchased it (I only have one bottle) was because I heard in the past how popular it was and that many spiritual people utilize it. But I probably won't be purchasing it anymore. It runs out too fast for me since I use it for cleansing baths and cleaning candles. I rather use rubbing alcohol too and for the spiritual baths I'll stick to Holy water. When my Florida water would run out half-way, I would refill it with tap water to make it full again. Lol. Lasted me two years.

    1. Yeah, I would love the link. Either leave it here or send it to me in my email or at the other forum.

I mainly used it to sprinkle on altars for the spirits, to cleanse the altars, and to cleanse my hands before doing work. Occasionally I would use it to cool myself down. If you used a lot on your hands you will find that your hands get really cold!

The one bottle I bought months back is still unopened. LOL

  4. The Dollar Tree my way is hit or miss. Sometimes they sell vigils of the Saints, but nothing like this. Where I get Vigil Saint candles and Florida water is actually@ a grocery store.

We have a huge Latino community, and I think that's why they begin selling these items. But it works for me:-). The candles are cheap (like 1.97) and are very pretty. I have gotten Saint Martha, Saint Anthony, Saint Lazuras and many others from there.

  5. @ Benita,

Large Latino community in my area as well. We have several Botanicas and Yerberias. We have several grocery stores that carry novenas and even hoodoo candles.

I love the Dollar Store. Lots of good things. A few years back they had black jumbo candles at 2 for a dollar. I bought like 16! LOL I still have a couple of left. That totally beats the price that Indio/Wisdom sells them for. Their emergency candles are good too. I also love thrift stores.

  6. I love thrift stores too and I have been lucky to find great deals there. Va didn't have much of anything until the Latino's came (hip hip hooray!). At least my part didn't.

Dollar tree is interesting. I tell you else I found there, tarot cards! When I saw them, I did a double take lol. You just never know with Dollar Tree. That's cool about the Jumbo candles. I will be on the look out for that!

  7. Our dollar store has some pretty decent rose scented incense (in Virgin of Guadalupe packaging.) I'll have to keep an eye out for the tarot cards, I've been looking for some cheap ones to use in art projects-- a dollar would be cheap enough for me.

  8. @ Doc and Wendy

I found them in the (yes you read this right lol) kid section where the magic tricks and games are. They're not anything fancy and if you don't look hard enough, you'll miss them. Theira little cheap looking, but I snagged a pack lol.

Off the subject, but did you guys know they sell drug testing kits for people who" smoke".
The whole shelf was cleared out in a week lol lol!

    1. @ Benita,

That's wild! I'll have to look for them next time I go.

About the marijuana test kits, saw those! They keep them right next to the pregnancy tests right at the front counter. LOL

    2. @ Doc,

Lol. The one near me keeps the maijauna test first, next to that is the ovulation kit, next to that is the" warming up" lube and last but not least the pregnacy test LOL. I swear its all in that order too!

Somebody was thinking ahead when they set that up LOL.
