Cut And Clear

If you go online you will hear this phrase repeated all over the Internet hoodoo sites. You can always tell the Internet crowd because they are so freaking obsessed with honey jars, mirror boxes, and stuff like "cut and clear". Real-life workers aren't caught up in that mess.

The term "cut and clear", as pertaining to hoodoo, was invented by a well known Internet occult shop owner. I don't know why people use this as if this is some form of traditional terminology. It's not. It's just that woman's name for the line of products she sells. However, you will find "Clearance" spiritual products which predate this woman's wares.

All "Clearance" products are is simply variations of cleansing, uncrossing, cast off evil, or "block buster" products. That's it. If you don't have any Clearance oils for example then you can substitute with any other of those type of oils. The main ingredient is lemon. People have been using lemon juice to clean up messes long before lemon was used to fragrance cleaning products. Waitresses know tricks with using lemons. Older housewives knew the tricks of using lemons. So when you are using Clearance products you are using the mundane use of using lemons to clean up messes and putting a magical twist to it to clean up messes in your life.

The whole point of clearance is to clear things away, to sweep everything aside, to clear your path. When you are using these products you are doing so to remove somebody from your life, their hold on you, the emotional ties, everything. That person is history. You can also use it on bad habits or whatever messes in your life that you want gone. The key is identifying the mess in your life and the targeting that mess for removal. It's not going to be like Samantha on Bewitched where you can just wiggle your nose. It's going to take work and time but clearance can help you in the process.

You actually don't need any of the commercial products. So please don't think you have to run out there and purchase all these goods. You can use a lemon, scissors and a pen and paper and do effective work. You can also use a broom or a bar of soap. I use the bar of soap myself. I won't share that work though because you can't find it online. If you want to make your own oils then you can just purchase lemon oil or make it yourself. It's not hard to make. I make my own and it smells wonderful. Simply save your lemon peels. Tear them into smaller pieces and place in a bottle. Top with olive oil just so that it covers all the pieces. Cap the bottle and label the bottle with the day you made it. Set it aside. Every so often open the bottle up and check the smell. Use a spoon to stir up it and then recap it. After a month if you like the smell then you can strain the oil and re-bottle it for use. If the smell is not strong enough for your tastes then just repeat the process.. You can add rue, hyssop, broomstraws and/or salt if you prefer but it's not necessary. Or you can purchase lemon essential oil and then add it to a carrier oil. It's up to you.

I'm reminded of that song, "Somebody That I Used To Know" by Gotye. Basically you know you have successfully cut all times with a person when they no longer have any power over you and you no longer think of them. They transition from someone who dominated your mind and life to "just somebody you used to know". Yes, unfortunately I've had to remove people from my life so I know from experience that clearance work really works.

  1. Thanks Doc is very clear. I also have always thought that any expression that speaks to remove the problem was within the category of cleaning, but was not sure for this topic.

  2. Hey Doc, I really liked this post, but have a question. I make all of my own oils and such and every once in a blue moon go to a shop for things that I lack. A while back I had a friend who had some bad habits/addictions that he asked my help with so I went to making an addiction breaking oil with a few herbs that I know to work well for that sort of problem. Long story short, it worked fantastically and he recovered. Now, my question is, was the oil I made necessary or could I have simply used the lemon method that you outlined for such a case? Or does it really matter and just personal preference in your opinion?

    1. It's whatever Spirit advised you to do. Also, the person's will and desire will effect it to. In helping drug addicts it is a MUST that they want to change. Most drug abusers have to get to the lowest point of their life before this happens, unfortunately. In real hoodoo, vs. the witchcraft that it is being confused with, we don't rely on recipes or formulas. We do have tried and true methods but the key thing is to go to Spirit and follow the advice given.

  3. Hi Doc

I have read that some say that this work serves to cut ties with the spirits. Is this true?
