Novena For Santa Muerte

Taken from a novena candle:

"Death, Dear To My Heart, Don't Abandon Me. Protect Me And From This Moment Cover My House, Work Or Business So That You Attract White Energies Of The Universe So That It Is Never Absent And That All Our Needs Are Covered By The Divine Power Of God The Father.

By The Virtues You Possess I Will Overcome All Obstacles And Not Tolerate People Who Wish Me Evil, But Positive People Who Only Know How To Love And Respect All Human Beings Who Inhabit This planet.

I Do Not Covet Riches, But A Life Without Shortcomings And I Welcome You To Protect Me At Night And During The Day. So Be It And It Will."

  1. Hi do you feel safe working with Santisma Muerte? In your past blog posts about her you wrote that she is associated with human sacrifice and has inner and outer circles, and most people don't know how to authentically work with her. There are a few modern temples dedicated to her here in Los Angeles.

I went to a botanica and asked about her. I was told that if you aren't dedicated to her, she'll 'take you' or 'take' a loved one.

    1. Your chances of joining the inner circle is slim to none. It's the inner circle crowd who make the pledge where they offer the life of a loved one to Santa Murte. That doesn't mean they will then die, but they might. As far as the actual human sacrifice goes, that is done by insane criminals, usually gang members and drug dealers. The majority of people who venerate Santa Muerte are good people, who call upon her for protection, healing, and other blessings.

  2. People often have their information confused. Not all botanicas work with la santa muerte. She does not take a loved one away. When it's their time to die she will come for that specific individual. Look at it like this it's a favor for a favor. You ask her for help in return you tell her anything you want. Ex: Please help me with financial issues. in return i will put you a glass of water every 3 days for a month. It's keeping your end of the bargain. You can't make a promise you can't keep. When working with her, you need to keep your word if you tell her you will do something in return for her. Just as she easily gives you want you want, she can easily take it away. I personally have faith in her and work with her. I must say having her in my life is such blessing and because of her life changing.

    1. @ Anonymous,

Yes, that is how most people who claim to work with Santa Muerte do today. I call them the "outer cicle". However, there is an "inner circle" of people who originally venerated Santa Muerte before she became popular. They do things far differenlty than just offering her a glass of water or an apple. They have complex rituals and rites.
